The Fuera Ascent is made from Nikwax Windproof fabric and as such its designed to be used in conjunction with the company’s Nikwax Fleece (Summit Hoodie) and aftercare products (the latter to renew water repellency indefinitely).  The system works well and even on its own this is a very user-friendly and great value jacket - of the numerous great features, the helmet compatible, ergonomically-designed hood is one of the best I've used, the pit zips are huge and give great venting and the zipped hand pocket are pack-, harness- and rope friendly, making for a really well designed jacket at a very good price.
