Love this jacket – after 35 years of hot and sweaty gortex I’ve found something that is very breathable and waterproof – I stay warm and dry inside even on a fast hill climb.

A great product from Paramo. Totally dry, well cut with some nicely thought out features. I am not usually one for wearing hoods, but the fit and adjust ability combined with the fabric on this jacket have changed my opinion. The only niggle is that the vents just open the outer fabric so it is difficult to open vents on under layers. Brilliant item of kit.

Excellent customer service: when I ordered the jacket they were out of stock but I was given the the option to shop elsewhere or let the order stand and it would be sent to me asap. I chose to wait and the jacket was sent out to me as soon as it became available.
The jacket itself is fantastic. My older paramo gear is all heavier and much warmer so I now keep it for my deepest-winter kit and use this Velez jacket for milder weather. Having said that, the first time I used it was in the Cairngorms in horizontal sleet and I couldn’t fault it. Kept my temperature just right with all the venting options and bone dry underneath. Have now used it in a variety of weather conditions and have stayed dry throughout, with all the vents making temperature control pretty simple.
Only 2 niggly gripes: the cuff velcro being sited on the back of the hand instead of across the palm as usual. Not sure what the thinking behind this is, but it makes holding the sleeve still while pulling the velcro tight almost impossible!
The other issue would be the lack of any way to fold the hood away, so when walking into the wind you have a mini parachute attached to your neck, and when walking downwind it wraps around and flaps beside your face which is seriously annoying after a few hours! Other than that this jacket is amazing and I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

A highly versatile jacket that looks and feels great. I have used mine for winter mountaineering in Snowdonia when it was 70mph blizzards up the top and torrential rain on the valley floor. Also used it at +18c in the recent warm spring we have experienced and didn’t overheat too much. Venting options are superb and work well with a Paramo Grid baselayer. It’s also surprisingly packable because of the lighter weight fabric sections. Always remember with Paramo you are buying a waterproof system rather than a true waterproof barrier like membrane based jackets. Only con I have is the lack of a way to retain the hood when not in use, but not a massive issue.
