Description
Specifically designed for running, backpacking, or ‘tabbing’ on rough terrain – especially effective on long descents, where impact on knees and joints needs to be reduced. The Absorber combines maximum shock absorption with a 3 dimensional underfoot support for maximum foot stability.
This is an excellent footbed for professional users, long distance walkers, mountaineers, or military who carry backpacks – at speed, over long distances.

I have been using these insoles for over one year and been very happy with them so far. Easier on the feet than other types of insoles which have a harder base.

Seems very good, but only used for a few weeks. A definite upgrade on other insoles I’ve used. Hope they last.

Great product and quick delivery – thanks!

A really nice well made soft inner sole however they are not right for my feet as I have narrow ankles and they allow too much movement of my heals in my walking boots. I have returned them unused to the shop.

Great insole recommended by yourselves to help prevent the tenderness I tend to get with my normal hiking boot insole

The best footbed I’ve ever used (this is my third of this exact type). Great support with great comfort but only if you have a distinct foot arch. Maybe a little uncomfortable if you have flat feet. Highly recommended.

Very easy to fit with good impact absorption. They make walking much more comfortable. I would recommend them.

Good insole, felt a bit high under the arch in the first instance then it settled/I got used to it. Slightly higher volume than the regular Altberg insole so a slight reduction in toe room for me on an A forme last Altberg boot. All made perfect sense when running. Which is what they’re designed for. Good product would use in other boots.

I have been wearing these Svartz Absorbers for around 5 years and have not found anything better for my painful feet. I have tried multiple orthotics, but most are too firm, while these provide support and comfort.

Just ordered a new pair of these. Having had my feet beaten up by my ‘famous brand’ insoles I tried the Absorbers a couple of years ago and, once my feet had recovered from the damage done by said ‘famous brand’, I was rewarded by much better comfort and stability within my boots. I also found I didn’t have to keep on retying my laces, presumably because my socks, and by logical extension, my feet, weren’t being beaten up so much. The Absorbers aren’t as durable as some insoles I’ve used (hence just the four star rating) but they’re definitely worth continuing with. One tip for improving durability – when trimming, avoid cutting the pad on the big toe side if possible, as this can cause a weak spot in the red pad on the underside which can lead to the pad tearing over time.

The best aftermarket insoles for hiking I’ve found. After beating up my feet with another, ‘famous’ brand I tried these a few years ago and, after my feet had recovered from the damage, I was rewarded by much better comfort and foot stability within my boots. I wasn’t sure they’d give the support I was used to but they really do, without the discomfort I’d become used to. They’re not the most durable insoles around, hence the loss of one star, but overall I’m happy enough with them to replace when they start to break up after a few hundred miles. Other insoles may last longer but don’t offer the same combination of cosseting and stability the Absorbers provide.

I love these insoles – they are vital for me following a toe joint replacement surgery and Morton’s neuroma. Whalley’s originally fitted them in my trainers and walking boots but I now also have them in my wellies and smart/fashion boots. The arch support is great.
