The Altberg Nordkapp is a classic 3 Season Hill Walking Boot. It is based on the tried and tested Altberg Tethera. The main difference between the Altberg Tethera and the Altberg Nordkapp is the fitting (last). The Nordkapp is made on the A-Forme® foot shape, which has an asymmetric forefoot, increased toe spring and a narrower heel.
The upper is a seamless one piece construction, made from first grade Italian Nubuk, backed up by a Sympatex® waterproof lining. Added protection to the upper comes from a full rubber rand with increased height around the toe. The underfoot support comes from a polypropylene midsole with a level 3 flex and gives excellent torsional support and stability underfoot.

Fantastic straight out of the box and 7 days walking in the Lake District averaging 14 miles a day. No discomfort, no breaking in the most comfortable boot I have ever worn.
David –
Had these boots now for four months. Great fit from the staff which included high arch insoles. These boots are so comfortable. Long wet walks including immersion just below top of boot. Totally waterproof, excellent comfort with A-Forme suiting the shape of my feet. Highly recommended, not cheap but worth every penny.

Thank you very much David for taking the time to leave a review.
We hope you enjoy many walks in your new Nordkapp boots!

I exchanged a pair of Tethera boots for the Nordkapp in September 2015 and put in Sorbothane Double Strike insoles. They have been used extensively for hill walking in all parts of England and Wales The comfort factor is first class from the moment I put them on, good adhesion on all surfaces and as for durability, they are showing no signs of wear. The best boots whether leather or fabric I have ever owned.

I purchased my Nordkapp boots in October 2017. I have worn them extensively since, over all kinds of terrain and in all weathers, except good weather. I can vouch for their complete water resistance, they have been field/mountain tested to the extreme and my feet stayed warm & dry.
Scrambling over wet rock and snow encrusted rock my footing always felt secure.
Ascending & descending muddy, unpathed hills again my footing was secure.
The fit is great after a little after sales tweek in the shop, I fully recommend these excellent boots. Yes they are expensive but in my view worth it.

Love these. My trusty old Berghaus boots are 7 years old now and I decided to treat myself to some new boots, and wanted British old fashioned quality – bought these in Keswick, had them fitted properly, and out I went… initially it was odd, as I was only used to light suede boots, but these are fabulous in rough terrain and wet muddy snowy conditions. Totally waterproof. I waxed mine so they are now dark brown. They look gorgeous, and are so stiff they don’t really bend when you walk – so remain crease free. Don’t wear them around town – not comfortable and I get achey ankles! First big hike was Helm Crag and the ridge, in Grasmere, and they were great for that. I’ve now had them exactly a year. They are heavy, but the quality is wonderful and they can be re-soled very reasonably. I have no wear at all on them yet, but it’s good to know that when I need to re-sole them, I can!

Excellent online service. The boot is absolutely fantastic, a perfect fit. Hopefully they’ll last a while but walking at least 2500 miles a year the test is to come!

Peter was absolutely fantastic with the boot fitting and recommended these boots. After some poor experiences with the most highly reputable brands in the high street stores, I can honestly say these are the most comfortable and robust boots I have ever worn.
Will definitely be a returning customer.
Bob Rawlinson –
had these boots for just over a year now I just love them, used for everything from dog walking to field archery on very rough terrain and will be going with me to the artic in Jan. The fitting service is great and its nice to know I can have the boots refitted as required

Went to the Altberg factory for measuring and ordered them there. Unfortunately they were going to be delayed by a month so I was able to purchase elsewhere. Whally Warm and Dry had them on the shelf. I ordered at lunchtime and they were here the next day. They fit perfectly with no breaking in necessary. I have worn them around the fields locally walking the dogs but can’t wait to give them a serious outing or two when on holiday next week.
Buy British, you won’t find any better!
